Description
Women in Black is a world-wide feminist network of women committed to peace with justice and is actively opposed to all forms of violence and discrimination, including militarism, racism, and homophobia. WiB is not an organisation, but an international network. WiB is also a means of communication and a formula for action. WiB stands for non-violent and non-aggressive action, and throughout the world conducts silent vigils while dressed in black. Our silence speaks more loudly and far stronger than thousands upon thousands of angry words. Our black attire signifies a feminist action which converts women's traditional passive mourning for the wartime dead into a powerful refusal of the logic of war. [Source : site web]
