On the 26th April 2007 the BCECW was founded by Monique Chalude, President of Amazone and Mo Wenxiu, Vice-President of the All China Women's Federation. In the light of their common aspirations and the need for a closer cooperation between Chinese and Belgian organizations active in the field of gender equality the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) and Amazone signed a charter confirming their intention to exchange information on gender equality and the activities of women's organizations, in order to promote a better understanding between the women of their two countries.
